How it works
Every day there is one official challenge with five short texts. Each text has exactly one word hidden inside it. Find it — that's the whole game.
The education budget arrived late.
Category: Animals · Hidden word: CAT
The four hiding methods
Every daily game uses all four of these methods, mixed across the five rounds in a random order. The letters of the answer always appear in order, never scrambled — but they are hidden in different ways. Two methods hide the word as one unbroken run of letters (drag to select), and two scatter the letters across the text (tap them one by one).
The education budget arrived late.
The whole answer sits inside a single longer word, with no spaces in between. Drag across the letters to select it.
The headline read America today and everyone cheered.
The answer starts at the end of one word and finishes at the start of the next, so you read it straight through the space: Ameri(CA T)oday → CAT. Drag across the gap.
The sign listed cloud apple table in faded paint.
The answer is spelled by the first letter of each word in a row — read down the starts: cloud apple table → CAT. The word never appears written straight through, so tap the letters one by one.
The crate held music floraa coat and nothing else.
The answer is spelled by the last letter of each word in a row — read down the ends: music flora coat → CAT. Like Initials, tap the letters one by one.
The answer word is never printed on its own. For the first two methods it appears exactly once written straight through; for the last two it never does, and the only way to spell it is the scattered pattern.
Answering
Type the word, or drag across the letters in the text. A correct highlight is accepted instantly.
Hints and scoring
Two hints per round: the first gives the category and first letter, the second the word length. Each round is worth 1,000 points plus a speed bonus, minus 100 per hint and 25 per wrong guess.
Streaks
Completing the daily challenge keeps your streak alive. Missing a day resets it. Archive puzzles are just for fun — they never affect your streak.
